It is correct that DCH may collect information through your use of the Website, including click stream data, which refers to the dates and times you access the Website, the domains from where you visited the Website, your activity on the Website and internet protocol addresses.   • outsourced service providers who assist any of the above persons to provide services;
  • outsourced service providers who assist DCH to provide its services including:

  • to assist government or regulatory authorities or police; and as we are required by law, for example, under a subpoena or by unclaimed money legislation.

    When DCH discloses your personal information to a third party, it is important to note that your information will be handled by that third party according to their own privacy policy, which may be different from DCH’s privacy policy.

We do not store any Personal Information outside of Australia but may send Personal Information to third parties located outside of Australia as further detailed in this section.
We may transfer your Personal Information to our service providers located in countries outside of Australia including Thailand and China. You consent to your Personal Information being disclosed outside of Australia, including in these locations.
While DCH has privacy rules in place to protect your Personal Information, the overseas recipient may not be subject to privacy obligations or any principles similar to the Privacy Act or the APPs. We cannot always control how these overseas recipients handle the Personal Information that we disclose to them.

However, if a data breach does occur, DCH will comply with its obligations under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Under this scheme, if a data breach occurs and it is likely to result in serious harm to you or other affected individuals, DCH will notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) and affected individuals as soon as practicable after becoming aware of the breach.

DCH will take all reasonable steps to contain the breach and assess the risks associated with the breach. We will also take steps to prevent similar breaches from occurring in the future. If you have reason to believe that your personal information has been compromised or there has been unauthorized access to your personal information, please contact DCH immediately.

This information is referred to as “DCH may use click stream data to analyse trends and statistics to improve the Website”. DCH may collect the click stream data through the use of cookies. The only circumstances in which external organisations may be given access to our customer’s personal information is when our contractors and service providers are helping in the operation of our business or providing customer service. MAINTAIN THE CURRENCY OF YOUR INFORMATION
      DCH relies on accurate and reliable information to deliver quality and effective services. If we are satisfied that any of the information we have about you is inaccurate, out-of-date, irrelevant, incomplete or misleading, or you request we correct any information, we will take steps as are reasonable in the circumstance to ensure the information held by us is accurate, up-to-date, complete, relevant and not misleading.
Should we refuse to correct the information, we will explain the reasons for the refusal.
      If we disclose your private information that is later corrected, we will, or else you may ask us to, notify the entity that received the incorrect information about that correction.

 

Safety of your information

      DCH takes reasonable steps to protect the Personal Information DCH collects from you against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or against access by unauthorised persons, misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
By using the Website, however, you acknowledge and accept the risk that the Website may contain hyperlinks to websites owned, operated and/or maintained by independent third parties. DCH has no control over the privacy practices or the content of any such websites linked to the Website, we can only inform individuals of the types of organisations to who we disclose Personal Information.

      DCH does not adopt or use any identifiers of any Australian government body or agency assigned to any individual as its identifier.
DCH will comply with its obligations under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme in respect of notifiable data breaches. To the extent we are required to notify you of a data breach, we will take all reasonable steps to make you aware of a such data breach.

 

UPDATES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

      DCH reserves the right to amend this Privacy Policy at any time and such amendments will be posted to the Website. DCH may, at its discretion, communicate amendments to this Privacy Policy to you by email or mail. In most circumstances, basic amendments to this Privacy Policy will not require your consent. However, if the amendments alter part of this Privacy Policy that renders DCH obliged to obtain your consent, we will notify you of the amendments and communicate that your acceptance of our email indicates implied consent unless you communicate to us that you do not consent to the amendments.

      You are entitled at any time to request access to your Personal Information held by us.       While DCH takes all reasonable steps to ensure your Personal Information is accurate, up-to-date and complete, DCH relies upon the accuracy, completeness and currency of the Personal Information you supply to us. Accordingly, if you identify any inaccuracy in your Personal Information, or you need to make a change or wish to verify such information, please contact DCH with a request to access your Personal Information with sufficient information to enable DCH to verify your identity. If this Personal Information has been previously disclosed to a third party, DCH will notify the relevant third parties of the correction.

      If there is a reason under the Privacy Act for us not to provide a person with any of your Personal Information (including where we are not obligated to comply with such request), we will give you a written notice of our refusal setting out the reasons for the such refusal (except to the extent it would be unreasonable or unlawful to do so), and advise you of the mechanisms available to you to complain about the refusal.
      Subject to applicable law, DCH reserves the right to charge an administrative fee to cover its reasonable costs for providing access to your personal information. We will endeavour to respond within a reasonable period after the request is made, it is anticipated that this is no more than 30 days.
      If DCH does not agree that your Personal Information is inaccurate, we will, at your request, attach a note stating that you disagree with the relevant material.

      You may also inform us if you withdraw any consents that you have previously provided to us.
